These are Work in Progress photographs of Nargis before she was painted or assembled.
Nargis is now painted and assembled. I knitted a lovely, yellow cotton set for her, which suites her name.
I knitted and decorated this beautiful dress set for Nargis, inspired by Mughal style.
Mughal style dress set (100% acrylic)
I crocheted a matching blanket for Nargis.
To make Nargis I used Super Sculpey clay, which has a tendency for half-moons to appear after baking. I sanded the clay pieces to make them smooth, which in itself created lines in the clay. When painting the pieces both the lines and exposed half-moons filled with paint. These are unintended imperfections.
I made this doe suede body. The joints have been tightened with cable
ties. The body has been filled with "baby fat" granules. They make the
body firm but squishy. The head, arms and legs can be gently posed.
I knitted a Christmas dress for Nargis.
Nargis is 38cm tall with bent legs.
She weighs approximately 1.4kg without her belly plate.

The belly plate on the reverse side is rough, unpainted clay. It is for posing Nargis when she is lying down. It lies on top of the doe suede body when needed. It does not attach to the body and will fall off if Nargis is lifted.
