This was my OOAK hand sculpted mini baby doll before being painted and assembled.
I have painted my baby doll using acrylic paints, made a cloth body for her and put the pieces together. I have called her Indi.
I bought this beautiful white cotton dress for Indi. The dress does not have any fastening at the back. To go with the dress I knitted a hat using white cotton yarn.
I wove a blanket for Indi.
The cotton body I made for Indi is unjointed as she has full limbs. The clay pieces are held by threads (as seen in this photograph) which I did not cut in case any adjustments needed to be made. I used fiberfill to stuff the body. There are no weights or glass beads as this is quite a small doll and they would not be needed. The head, arms and legs can be gently posed. I have made the body soft to allow flexibility during posing. Some pencil marks are still visible from when I was marking the fabric for cutting.
I used Super Sculpey clay (which requires baking) to make Indi. This type of clay has a tendency for "half-moons" to appear after baking. They are the white semicircles visible on the clay pieces.
Indi is a soft, squishy baby that is pleasant to hold and pose. She is so cuddly.
Edit: I have replaced the cords with fine wire.
And I have made some felted woolen baby booties for her.
Indi is 18cm tall with bent legs.
She will come with:
Cotton dress
Hand knitted cotton hat
Felted woolen baby booties
Woven blanket
Certificate of Authenticity from me (Dolls from Aileen)
Care instructions with information about how to look after Indi
All in a gift box
